At the start of the term we began the topic 'It's Not an Even Playing Field'
In this we were going to learn about Human Rights in countries that we were going to choose from a list.
My group, (Elliot, Julia, Max) choose Somalia in Africa.
We started researching Somalia. We found some very good information about the war with Ethiopia, the Somaliland and Puntland separation from the main country of Somalia, and a very good timeline about the main events in Somalia on the Internet.
After the research we wrote down or printed out the info we had found, highlighting key words and looking up words that we did not understand.
Soon after this we will be turning the info we have into a slide show or movie-maker file on Human Rights in Somalia.
Also, I was shocked with situation of Human Rights in Somalia and in many other places like Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, China, Japan, Mongolia, Burma, Nepal, Pakistan,
Northern Russia and many more places that have a very poor standard of human rights.
So I think that we should all do something to help the situation in the world today because no matter if it's in the playground or in the trenches of WW1,
You can still do something to help and support.
